New Electrophysiologist

SARASOTA, FL. – (July 2016) Heart Specialists of Sarasota is privileged to welcome Brian P. Betensky, M.D., a new Cardiac Electrophysiologist to our cardiology practice. He will be accepting new patients here at 1950 Arlington Street, Suite 400 in Sarasota at the end of July and will be performing procedures at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and Doctors Hospital of Sarasota. Dr. Betensky will join fellow cardiologists David S. Schreibman, M.D., Michael Mollod, M.D., David M. Yamada, M.D., Hardy J. Schwartz, M.D., Chippy C. Nalluri, M.D., Steven J. Class, M.D., Walter R. Hepp, M.D., Robert E. Eckart, D.O., and Frederick R. Yturralde, M.D. Heart Specialists of Sarasota is a premiere cardiology group covering all aspects of cardiology care with cutting edge technology. Dr. Betensky graduated from Boston University School of Medicine in Boston, MA. He completed his internal medicine training & Fellowship in Cardiovascular Disease and advanced subspecialty training in Cardiac Electrophysiology at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Disease and is Board Eligible in Clinical Cardiac Electrophysiology. Dr. Betensky provides comprehensive care for patients with a broad range of heart rhythm disorders. He has expertise in complex catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation, atypical atrial arrhythmias, premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) and ventricular tachycardia (VT). He also specializes in pacemaker and defibrillator implantation, lead management, syncope, sudden cardiac arrest and stroke prevention. He was recipient of the Heart Rhythm Society Clinical Research Award in Honor of Hein Wellens and Mark Josephson and has published numerous original research manuscripts in leading peer-reviewed cardiology journals. In his spare time, he enjoys international medical volunteer work, jazz piano, physical fitness training and back-country camping.
